Archive for the month “July, 2005”

I have decided to put Solomon’s pics in some sort of order. I just keep taking more, might as well put them in chronological order. Otherwise, not much else is going on. Sol has been VERY fussy lately. I can’t wait until I get to stay home with him. I just keep telling myself only one more month of work.
Yeah. That is pretty much it.

Talking about …but I still love technology…always & forever…

Yeah, I can sometimes be as nerdy as Trask. I was pretty fascinated by this keyboard and website….. I found this on someone else’s blog site and thought it might add something interesting to mine.

…but I still love technology…always & forever…

From the website: "Every key of the Optimus keyboard is a stand-alone display showing exactly what it is controlling at this very moment."
Basically every key is a little screen that can display different things depending on which program you’re using.
Also, Moscow is the capital of Russia…and there’s no snow in Moscow during the summer.
While we’re on the subject of cool gadgets, check out the SONY Datatile … reminds me of Minority Report.

Hurricanes suck

I think Florida is telling us it really doesn’t like us. The year we were married (1998), there were MASSIVE fires all over Florida. It was so bad we had to scrape ash off of our cars as if it were snow. Everyone smelled as if they had been camping for a month. For our honeymoon we had gone to Orlando for 2 days. If we had tried to leave a week later, we would not have been able to make it as the fires had overtaken the Interstate and most of the other roads between Jacksonville and Orlando.
We move to Washington state that year and everything turns hunky-dory. We move back in late 2003, and in 2004 we have the worst hurricane season on record. This year, there have been more hurricanes formed in July than has ever been recorded before…. Generally it is up to the B name by the end of July. Tomorrow Gert should be formed enough to name. Blah.
Otherwise, not much else is going on. We are trying to decide which room to make into Sol’s room. Then we are going to paint it and recarpet it. We are going back and forth on tile or wood floor for most of the house. The kitchen will definately have tile. It’s very exciting to be allowed to do things like this.

Sol is starting to really grow up. I mean, he has been since he was born, of course. He has started to grab his stuffed animals and suck on them, he’s rolling over from front to back, and almost from back to front.
He had his first really official pictures done on Sunday. I can’t wait to get them back. We dressed him in some khaki shorts and a button up shirt. REALLY cute. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to post them unless I get my lazy butt down to Kinko’s to have them scanned onto a disk. As I have not yet finished my announcements within 3 months, this may take a while.

This is the first time I have posted a blog. I’m a pretty boring person.

My son is now almost 3 months old. He is getting so big. I never thought that it would be possible to love someone so completely. I have loved a lot of people in my life, but the feeling I get when I look at Sol is so completely different.

I wasn’t sure what to really do with this particular space, maybe I will just use it to set down my thoughts on Sol and his growth (physical, mental, spiritual). It would be kind of neat to have a sort of journal that he can look at when he is 18 or so. I had planned on getting a notebook for that, but I may just start with this and also get a notebook.

Anyway, right now Sol is sitting in his vibrating chair and cooing to the mobile hanging on it. Although, he looks like he is starting to get a little cranky, so I will have to cut this short.
