A big step… for all of us.

Sol is sleeping in his own room for the first time tonight. Our room seems so big and quiet now. His room seems too big and quiet. People kept telling me that we would never be able to get him out of our room, but I really think it is the other way around. He is doing fine. Trask and I keep checking on him and we even considered blowing up the air mattress and sleeping in his room with him.
I thought I would be happy to have our room to ourselves again….
His room looks wonderful. We have a few touch-ups to make before it is completely done, but they are small things. I will be posting pics as soon as I can.

I hope everyone has had a pleasant and filling Thanksgiving. I ate so much I nearly made myself sick. That is as it should be hehe.
In the past couple of weeks Sol has really become a very good crawler. We accidently scared him into learning how to do a normal crawl though…. I turned on the vacuum cleaner, he screamed, crawled to the couch (and daddy), and damn near crawled ONTO the couch. He can’t crawl too well in the pants that I keep putting on him. The cold season just isn’t very long here in Florida, so I want to enjoy his little pants and overalls while I can.
He learned a new game he enjoys playing with Grandma Bobi. For some reason she is the only one he will do this with lol. He plays "Gonna Get You!". Sometimes she chases him, and sometimes he chases her. It is sooooooo cute. He also started to make this weird throaty (almost a laugh) sound when he started to play this little game. Now he does it all the time. I think he enjoys experimenting with laugh sounds. He started with the (what I called) pteradactyl sound. Everyone else called it the dolphin sound. He still does that one every once in a while, but not as often as he did before.
I am soooooo excited about the Holiday season. I am going to get my decorations up this week. Hopefully. I may put it off a little bit as we will be getting carpet in Sol’s room and in the master bedroom. YAY!!!

Seven Months

Sol is now 7 months old as of the 16th. He had a doctor visit yesterday to get his shots and general check-up. He is now 26" long and 15 lbs 5 oz. My little guy is growing up… I didn’t stay for his shots. I hate that part. I don’t mind getting them myself, but I just breakdown when they give them to Sol. Trask said he did pretty well, but on the last shot (they gave him 3 in all) he was pretty sure Sol’s first word was going to be a cuss word.
The pediatrician gave us the go-ahead to start giving him meat. She told us it would be fine to start feeding him more actual food. Still no fish, eggs, or nuts. So, tonight I made some chicken and dumplings. It was a meal-in-a-box kind of thing. I took some of the veggies and a few pieces of chicken, milled them up, and fed him. He LOVED it.
I am really looking forward to sharing the holidays with him. I had so much fun on Halloween with him. This Thanksgiving and Yule should be wonderful. He already loves the shiny lights on the trees at the stores and the shiny-looking gifts.

According to my stats on this site…. my blog site appears to show up on search engines. It was #1 on a search for "mamamamamama" and #8 on a search for JoAnn Fabrics. Hehe. And here I was jealous of Geek Speaker cuz his was showing up all over the place (his showed up on Google search for Fantasy Football and he was also quoted on CNET).
I guess I am just a little surprised that my little site would be linked in this way.
I still don’t know why someone would come to my site in regards to JoAnn Fabrics though… I have it on my Sites List. Hmmm.

I wish I had gotten new batteries for the camera…. Sol had tried to crawl on the tile at Grandma and Grandpa Drew’s. He still  normally does the commando crawl, but once he hit that tile his little body went UP. He did a normal crawl for a few inches, then decided that his knees were too cold. So he lifted himself up so only his feet and hands were touching the tile. He was pretty much doing the Downward Facing Dog in yoga. Hahahahaha. He couldn’t move too well this way. Hehe.

Halloween Fun

Sol and I didn’t do much for Halloween. I dressed him up as a dragon, which he wasn’t too very sure about. The costume made him really clumsy, so he couldn’t crawl or sit up lol. I took him to my work as they were having a little thing for the employees’ children. I pretty much just kept him there long enough to show him off as the costume was a little on the warm side.

Sol is trying to talk. Hehe. So far all he says is mamamamamamamamabababamamamamama. It’s really cute. He will commando-crawl to me, tug on my jeans and just start blabbing to me. I don’t think he quite gets what he is saying, but I give him a hug whenever he says it.
Poor Trask. He keeps saying "Papa" and "Dada" to Sol. Sol will just look at him and say "Muhma". Heheh.
