Day 2: Animal

Well, this one is a little sad. I am most thankful for my cat, Nightshade. She has been gone since April of 2007. She was my first roommate and my companion. She would walk on a leash for me and I was able to take her to the park on occasion. She was a great traveler and seemed to have an adventurer’s soul.

I actually bought her from a pet store. I really didn’t have the money for her, but I needed to have her in my life. We connected the moment we looked at each other. I have never had that kind of connection with another pet.

I went through some rough financial times and I always made sure that she had food in her bowl even when I had to skimp on my own meals.

She was crazy and earned the nickname Bitch Cat from most of my friends. She definitely knew what she wanted and how to get it.

I miss her a lot.

  1. My cat baby was the most devoted cat ever. He was found in an alley with one bad eye,a dislocated pelvis, and a snaggle tooth. He followed me everywhere. I was broken hearted when a neighbor mistakenly took him to the no kill shelter. Now i finally have Slim Shady, a blind cat who i found on craigslist as a kitten. He plays just as well as a sighted cat but walks with his head cocked to one side.
